Fr. Augustine Hilander, O.P., Associate
Pastor associatepastor@uonewman.org 541-343-7021 x23 I grew up in Southern California and entered a small Catholic College down there. I was ordained May 31, 2008. St. Thomas More Newman Center will be my first assignment as a priest, but I have been to Eugene before working during a summer at one of the finest St. Vincent De Paul Societies in the nation. My interests are varied. I have always been interested in travel and have gone to Europe and Mexico. I have always wanted to go to China and Japan. I like foreign things and always look for something new. I was a librarian in college and while I don't have a degree, whenever I go to a bookstore, I have the urge to arrange the books in order. I like hiking, but I keep it slow and steady trying to see all the wonders around me. I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing our Catholic faith together. |

Kathy Hill -
Secretary secretary@uonewman.org 541-343-7021 x.10 I'm a native Oregonian, born and raised in Eugene, and a 1976 graduate of North Eugene High School. For the past 16 years I lived in Berlin, Massachusetts, a small town of 2600 people, where I was active in church, my daughter's school, and town government. I taught Sunday School for many years, served on the Church Council, and presided over the Women's Guilds. I recently moved back to Eugene with my daughter, who is a freshman at Marist. I've been an Executive Secretary for 25+ years; this is my ninth year as a Church Secretary. I love being back in Eugene and thoroughly enjoy my work and co-workers at Newman Center. Several times a day, I say prayers of thanks for my many blessings! |

Stephanie
Conklin - Peer Minister peerminister1@uonewman.org 541-343-7021 x.33 My name is Stephanie Conklin and I am proud and honored to be one of the two new peer ministers for the 2010-2011 school year. I am a fifth year student with majors in Journalism (specifically electronic media) and Spanish. I plan on attending law school after graduation of this year as I feel passionately about strength and justice for all. Growing up education and faith have been instilled in my three sisters and I as a cornerstone of life. Being originally from Eugene, I grew up attending St. Paul Catholic Church and made the transition to the Newman Center when I came to college. Both my parents were "ducks" in college therefore there was no question where to go to school. The Newman Center naturally fell into my life as the final piece of the puzzle. I can only pray I do a successful job as peer minister and realize its nearly impossible to find this kind of community anywhere else. You never know where life will take you or what God has in store but what I do know Christ is there every step of the way! |
