Dear Friends,
Like many pastors before me, I write to you once again this Advent season to ask you for a “Christmas Gift” to St. Thomas More Newman Center. Your donation helps our ministry expand and grow at the University of Oregon.
We have enjoyed many blessings this year. We are seeing more students at our events and at our Student Mass on Sundays. Some are preparing to enter the Church at Easter, and others are wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The staff is working hard to ensure that current programs continue to grow and create new ones that will attract more students from the University.

The season of Advent is a time to rejoice in our faith as we wait and long for the birth of our Savior. I suppose if you did a word association test on “Advent”, a word you might come up with would be “calendar”. Many of us see it as a countdown to Christmas.

We are not good with waiting, but it is such an important aspect of Advent. We are reminded through Scripture of a time when people longed for someone who would change everything. A time of waiting for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who would change us forever.
Your generosity over the years is deeply appreciated! My heartfelt thanks to you. Please bless us once again with a Christmas Gift this year. (Click Here to Give a Gift) |
I can’t express how grateful I am for the support each of you has shown me in my first year as Pastor. It is a blessing to be here at St. Thomas More. May God bless you and your families this Christmas.
In Christ,
