I was born in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, and raised in Arizona.  After graduating from the University of Arizona, I entered the Order of Preachers in 1983.  I have been ordained 32 years, and have served in Arizona, California, and most recently at the University of Washington Newman Center.  I am also the Director of the Dominican Mission Foundation.  This is my second time here at St. Thomas More Newman Center.  Go Ducks!

I am originally from San Francisco, California, my parents were immigrants from the Philippines. As a young child, my sister and I moved to the Philippines to live with my aunt. During my college years at the University of Santo Tomas, I studied Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. After graduating, I returned to the United States and pursued a career in Clinical Laboratory Science in Las Vegas, NV. In the course of my medical career of seven years, I discerned the vocation to the priesthood and joined the Dominican Order on the West Coast. On June 23, 2024, I was ordained to the priesthood.

I have been very blessed during my 23 years of ministry. I worked for six years as a LIFE TEEN youth minister at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene, Oregon. In 2006 I “graduated” to serve as a campus minister at the Newman Center.  It has been a great honor to work with the Dominican Priests and Brothers of the Western Dominican Province.  Ministering to the students at the University of Oregon and Lane Community College has been such a joy. I love being a “Catholic Duck!”  Our Lord places a sacred trust in us as we walk with our students during a pivotal time of their lives. I have seen many changes in the years as a campus minister, yet one thing has remained constant; our students will always need to hear the message of the infinite love God has for them.

I joined the staff in 2016 as the Development Director for Newman. I never thought that I would be called to work in the Catholic Church for I had been a professional chef all my career. Fr. Peter Do, O.P. asked me if I wanted to work for the church, and I initially said no. I was happy being a chef, it was my life and identity. Fr. Peter and I kept encountering each other on the U.O. campus, it was as if God kept putting him in from of me. What was God trying to tell me? Then I remember a promise I made to Him many years ago, that I would always say "yes" to Him. God has blessed my life with Stefani, my wife, our two cats, Lilikoi and "Cat"thrine of Siena, and a job which I love.

My husband and I moved to Eugene from North Texas in 2017 to be near our daughter and her family (grandkids are the best). The draw to move here was the grandkids but we have fallen in love with the beauty of the area and all of the outdoor activities. We have 7 other grown children who live in various parts of the country and 1 in Germany. I have worked in the office, primarily as a bookkeeper, at several Catholic parishes over the past 27 years. I love the energy here at St. Thomas More.

I am very excited to see what this year has in store and to get to know the parish of St. Thomas More even better.

I am a third-year FOCUS missionary. I was born in San Diego, CA, but primarily grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA, due to my dad being in the Navy, before returning to San Diego to attend college at San Diego State University. I’m blessed to be born and raised in a loving and faithful Catholic family.  At college, I stumbled upon a very vibrant Newman Center community there. In a time when most young people tend to fall away from the Catholic Faith, I was only further grounded in it. As I continue to grow in my relationship with the Lord, I desire to share this Christ-like life with others, especially the college students at the University of Oregon.

I was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon surrounded by a loving family and community.  For my junior year of high school I got accepted into an exchange program and was placed in Hawaii.  I then received a scholarship to go to Carroll College in Helena, Montana.  God has called me to serve at the University of Oregon! I am so grateful that the Lord has placed me in a beautiful place full of so much history and amazing people, and also a great team!

I’m a second-year FOCUS missionary. I was born and raised in Kansas, growing up mostly in the suburbs of Kansas City in Overland Park. I went to College at Kansas State University, Go Cats!, and graduated in December of ‘24 with a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering. While there, I was also in a Fraternity, the Alpha Iota Chapter of Theta Xi.  I chose to join FOCUS because of the large impact it had on my conversion back to the faith through a mission trip and seeing how much better life gets with an authentic relationship with Jesus. I’m excited to be at the University of Oregon this year and help those on this campus come to know Jesus in the fullness of the Catholic Faith!
