EM - EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION
ROLE DESCRIPTION
EM's are laypeople commissioned to distribute Communion at Mass. (we are called "extraordinary" because the ordinary ministers of Communion are the ordained clergy (bishops, priests and deacons).
QUALIFICATIONS
Catholics who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and Holy Communion are eligible to join this very special ministry. Also, must be at least 16 yrs old, confirmed and if married it must be by the laws of the church.
TIME COMMITMENT
Choose to serve weekly, monthly, or quarterly, or as a substitute

Reverence for the Eucharist

Commitment to be at assigned Mass

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Trainings are usually held the 1st or 2nd week of each quarter--Fall, Spring and Summer. Look for announcements at Mass, in the bulletin, and here on the website when a training is coming up.
